| Description At Pepe Sale, in the heart of Reading, you will experience the delicious, authentic flavours of Sardinia. In only their second year of trading, Pepe Sale won "Best Italian Food Restaurant in Great Britain 2000" awarded by the Pasta, Pizza and Italian Food Association of Great Britain. Owner and head chef Toni Sale prepares fresh pasta made by hand every morning. Customers are welcomed at the table by a complementary basket of delicious Sardinian thin, crispy bread served simply with extra virgin olive oil and a little fresh rosemary. Speciality main courses include fresh sea bass cooked in a sea salt crust, swordfish with Vernaccia wine, wild boar with mirto sauce, which gives a wonderful sweet and sour flavour, and lamb cooked in vegetables with Cannonau, a traditional Sardinian red wine. Pepe Sale uses many organic products and does not use any genetically modified foods. They also have an excellent selection of vegetarian dishes available, and are happy to cater for people with special dietary requirements by arrangement. Together with the stylish, minimalist decor and warm atmosphere you will find that eating at Pepe Sale is an authentic Sardinian dining experience. Large parties can be catered for and the venue is suitable for a variety of occasions from business meetings to wedding receptions and birthday parties.
